Ministry of Health's new dietary resource acknowledged by New Zealand's top exercise industry bodies

The New Zealand Ministry of Health's new dietary resource 'Eating for Healthy Older People' has been received welcomed by both Fitness New Zealand, and the Register of Exercise Professionals.

Both organisations have acknowledged the resource as one of the best of its kind, and in particular recognied that it was one of the few resources to ensure the messages were based on the latest research of both exercise and nutrition.

FitnessNZ Chief Executive Richard Beddie explained "one of the key messages that is missing from so many messages about exercise is that of intensity.

"It's great to see specific mention of this in the resources, and in particular reference to 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity daily".
