MERRITHEW Symposium to come to Australia in 2017

Leisure Concepts has announced that the 2017 MERRITHEW™ Australian Symposium will be held in Melbourne, at Crown Melbourne, from 3rd to 5th February next year.

This will be the first time in three years that MERRITHEW™ has brought its Symposium to Australia, with the Symposium to be led by MERRITHEW™ Master Instructor Trainers: Moira Merrithew, PJ O'Clair and Kim Kraushar.

Moira Merrithew, along with her husband Lindsay G. Merrithew, has been the driving force behind the growth of MERRITHEW™, and its premium brands STOTT PILATES®, ZEN•GA™, CORE™ Athletic Conditioning & Performance Training™ and Total Barre™. She has been at the forefront of equipment design and manufacturing since the beginning and continues to lead its innovative product development today.

Working closely with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, they ensure all programming is aligned with current scientific and biomechanical research. 

The 2017 MERRITHEW™ Australian Symposium will include courses and workshops for ZEN●GA®, Total Barre™, STOTT PILATES® and the brand new MERRITHEW Fascial Movement Instructor Course.

Moira Merrithew
Moira Merrithew (pictured with Lindsay G. Merrithew), together with President and Chief Executive of MERRITHEW™, Lindsay G. Merrithew, has spent over two decades promoting the benefits of responsible exercise through their branded programming. Together with her team, they ensure all programming is aligned with current scientific and biomechanical research. In addition to overseeing the Education Department, she is a content creator and featured performer in the extensive DVD series. 

A published author and media personality, she presents at numerous fitness industry events all over the globe. After an accomplished career as principal dancer with the City Ballet of Toronto and the Atlantic Ballet Company, Moira Merrithew went on to retrain and certify as a Pilates instructor under the tutelage of Romana Kryzanowska at the original studio founded by the late Joseph H. Pilates.

PJ O'Clair
MERRITHEW™ Master Instructor Trainer PJ O’Clair has been a leader and consultant in the fitness industry for more than 25 years. A valuable member of the programming team, PJ specializes in STOTT PILATES®, Total Barre™ and ZEN•GA™ Mindful Movement and is the owner, president and educational director of US-based Northeast Pilates, a STOTT PILATES Licensed Training Centre. She is a featured performer and instructor in numerous fitness videos including over 30 titles with MERRITHEW. 

O’Clair won the prestigious IDEA Program Director of the Year Award in 2008 and was a finalist in 2007. She is a sought-after speaker and consultant at fitness conferences and spas worldwide – and has written numerous articles for industry publications. 

Kim Kraushar
Kraushar has built an impressive reputation as an expert and leader in the health and wellness industry. She is a MERRITHEW™ Master Instructor Trainer and an integral member of the Programming/Education team, representing STOTT PILATES®, ZEN•GA™, CORE™ Athletic Conditioning & Performance Training™, and Total Barre™ programming. Kraushar is the owner of one of the first STOTT PILATES Licensed Training Centres in Canada.
