MENALAC reflects on 2024 highlights and spotlights plans for 2025

As 2024 concludes, the Middle East and North Africa Leisure and Attractions Council (MENALAC) highlights its successes and plans for 205.

MENALAC has had a remarkable year, with highlights including the MENALAC AWARDS GALA, CEO CONCLAVE, and the inaugural HEALTH, SAFETY, SUSTAINABILITY & INCLUSIVITY CONFERENCE in Riyadh. The recent FOCUS ON EGYPT initiative was a standout, bringing together leisure leaders and government officials to explore Egypt’s emerging entertainment market. The success of their first MENALAC GOLF DAY and second AUTUMN MINGLE demonstrate a growing appetite for fun networking events.

Looking to 2025, MENALAC will continue fostering growth through networking, education, and recognition events. Given the critical importance of raising awareness and promoting inclusivity and sustainability in attractions, they have announced new MENALAC INCLUSIVITY TRAILBLAZER Recognition Awards and MENALAC GREEN THRILL MAKER Recognition Awards which will debut during the Health, Safety, Inclusivity & Sustainability Day on 8th April 2025, in Dubai. These recognition awards will look to acknowledge top regional attractions that are significantly raising the bar on these critical social causes.

A 2025 highlight will be the second edition of the MENA LEISURE REPORT, scheduled for release in the second quarter. This comprehensive resource will provide data, insights, and strategies to empower businesses across the region.

A key initiative soon to be established next year is the MENALAC SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE, to address the industry's growing focus on sustainability, with the goal of achieving net-zero attractions. MENALAC encourage passionate and proactive sustainability experts from member organisations to register their interest before 3rd January 2025 and get ready to contribute and grow alongside like-minded changemakers.

MENALAC are also launching a Job Board in 2025 which will be a platform for member organisations to freely post their job openings and attract leisure talent, as well as SAFETY UNLOCKED – The Podcast, where safety thought leaders and experts will dive into the heart of safety practices shaping the future of MENA leisure and entertainment.

As we enter 2025, MENALAC share “we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our members for their support and dedication in advancing the MENA leisure and attractions industry. May this new year bring exciting new opportunities, innovation, and success to your endeavours. Together, let’s continue to inspire, grow, and make our industry even more vibrant and sustainable. Here’s to a year filled with collaboration, growth, and unforgettable experiences.”

Whether you are interested in some healthy competition at the MENALAC Golf Day, looking for critical updates and discussions at the L.E.A Health, Safety, Sustainability & Inclusivity Conference or a night of honour and celebration at the MENALAC Awards Gala, register your interest.
