Masks not mandatory in Sydney gyms
The latest health advise from the NSW Government is that face masks are not required within fitness facilities at this time.
The clarification follows conflicting advice during the week as the state recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday evening.
NSW Health thanked the community for responding to calls to get tested as they continued to search for the source of infection following the diagnosis of a man in his 50s earlier this week.
The man's partner has also been diagnosed with COVID-19.
NSW Health introduced additional COVID-19 restrictions this week, which have fallen during Mother's Day weekend, including limiting the number of people inside homes to 20, and mandatory mask-wearing in many indoor settings.
New restrictions remain in place across Greater Sydney until 12:01am on Monday 10th May.
As of today, the Western Australian Government has advised that the wearing of masks within fitness facilities in the Perth and Peel Regions will no longer be mandatory.
