Martin Schlegel establishes Chemneera consultancy

Dr Martin Schlegel, the former Managing Director of Advanced Polymer Technology Australasia and Director of Sports Technology International, has established Chemneera Pty Ltd, a consultancy specialising in surfacing technology and management in sport and recreation.

The new consultancy brings a wealth of experience to clients in selecting the best technology to solve problems and to achieve identified outcomes. Schlegel brings strong research experience and focus (including formal qualifications) on quality, ISO standards and lean tools, demonstrable success in building brands and managing business growth with specialised experience in managing mergers and acquisitions and optimising production facilities globally.

Schelgel is also a Member of the Advisory Board of WTS Australia, a tax, legal and consulting group, and part of the global WTS alliance of advisory companies. In addition, he is a guest lecturer at RMIT University, Melbourne in the field of sports management and surfacing technology and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Sports Technology.

Most recently, he spoke at the Technical Textile and Nonwoven Association (TTNA) Synthetic Turf Technology Clinic on the environmental credentials of synthetic turf and how to counteract negative environmental campaigns focused on the industrial inputs used in synthetic turf.

Schlegel has also been part of a group considering establishing a new industry association, provisionally title Synthetic Turf Australasia.
