Loss of venue forces cancellation of 2024 Ballarat Show
The Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society has advised that, due to an inability to secure a venue, the 2024 Ballarat Show will not go ahead.
Usually held at the Ballarat Showgrounds in November each year, the agricultural show had been looking for a temporary as a result of the site being demolished as part of the expansion of the Eureka/Mars Stadium.
In a statement, Show Committee Chair Kerri Gallagher says the Society is looking at the potential to run some smaller categories at individual sites, but this will be confirmed later in the year.
The Committee apologised to all involved in the Show, including exhibitors, vendors and the wider community for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation.
Cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, the Show is set to return in 2025 at new venue north of Ballarat in Mount Rowan.
