Live Nation reveals Philippines expansion with acquisition of Manila-based Music Management International
Global entertainment company Live Nation has announced its expansion into the Philippines market with the acquisition of Manilla-based promoter, Music Management International (MMI).
Long been considered to be one of the top concert promoters in the Philippines since its founding in the 1990s, MMI has promoted tours by acts including Madonna, Coldplay, U2, Harry Styles, Bruno Mars, Niall Horan and Dua Lipa.
MMI has also previously co-promoted shows in the Philippines with Live Nation - including concerts by Green Day and Billie Ellish (although both were scrapped due to the pandemic - while both companies have worked together on shows by Backstreet Boys, U2, Why Don’t We, Troye Sivan and Maroon 5.
The acquisition sees MMI Chief Executive and founder Rhiza Pascua appointed as Managing Director of Live Nation Philippines.
Announcing the expansion, Live Nation Asia Pacific President, Roger Field stated “Rhiza is a formidable operator and has put the Philippines firmly on the global touring map. We have a long-standing and successful relationship with MMI, and the launch of Live Nation Philippines is the natural next step in our committed growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
“MMI adds another part to our network and our vision to deliver exceptional live entertainment experiences to music fans and more opportunities for artists to grow their audience across the world.”
Pascua added “over the years, MMI has delivered industry-leading world-class services to attract the biggest and best talent to the Philippines.
“Through the launch of Live Nations Philippines, the sky’s the limit, and we look forward to bringing even more of the globe’s biggest stars and connecting fans with the artists they love and the magic of live.”
Archie Rose signs events deal with Live Nation Australia
Live Nation Australia has revealed a link with Archie Rose with the independent Sydney distiller becoming the entertainment promoter’s white spirits partner.
The multi-year deal will be used by Archie Rose promote its flagship range of gins and vodkas as well as its four pre-made and canned cocktails. The arrangement will also see the sponsor create a bespoke range of spirits and cocktails to be served at Live National festivals.
A year-round program will see Archie Rose gain exposure through on and off-premise promotions, experiential activations and premium ticket access as well as VIP and special experiences for live music fans.
