Lingerie Football League confirms Australian events
AEG Ogden has officially announced its partnership with the Lingerie Football League (LFL) that will see what Business Week calls the "fastest-growing sports league in the United States" stage it inaugural events in Australia.
The 2012 LFL All-Star Games will be held at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday 2nd June and Allphones Arena, Sydney on Saturday 9th June, 2012.
Games in the Australian All-Star Tour will feature 32 players from across the US-league as the Western and Eastern Conference teams clash in front of projected capacity crowds in Brisbane and Sydney, two cities that the LFL has identified as being potential homes for two of the franchises in 2013.
LFL Football, described as the "ultimate live sports experience", has developed one of its largest international fan bases in Australia with Fuel TV broadcasting the league since its inception in 2009. As much success as the LFL has enjoyed in the US, internationally the appetite for LFL Football has been even greater as it is broadcast in nearly 43 countries while drawing near capacity crowds in previous international games played in Mexico and Canada. The appeal internationally has been strong enough for the LFL to announce the formation and kick-off of several international leagues to include LFL
Australia in 2013 with franchise teams in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
In Australia for the official launch, LFL founder and Chairman Mitchell S. Mortaza stated "we could have never imagined the incredible response of Australia to LFL Football. While we have received offers previously to bring LIVE exhibition games to Australia, we have never had the opportunity to team with the experience and savvy of a group like AEG Ogden.
"This is truly a significant moment in the short history of the league as we take our first step toward introducing Aussies to LFL Football and the eventual premiere of LFL Australia in 2013."
LFL's Los Angeles Temptation All-Star and Queensland born Chloe Butler is the face of the LFL in its push to establish an Australian league. Chloe will serve as the ambassador of LFL Football coming to Australia and will captain the Western Conference squad in the LFL All-Star Games in June.
Mindful of criticism of past criticismof the sport for denigrating women, Mortaza and other LFL spokespersons were keen to emphasise the athleticism of participants.
Mortaza also announced TeleCafe as the official naming rights partner for their inaugural Australian All-Star Tour.
