'Last Shout' at the Star caps successful week for Australian tourism

Over 1,500 delegates attending the tourism industry's largest tradeshow in the southern hemisphere, the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE), capped off the successful week with the grand finale, 'The Last Shout' by Tourism Australia on the balcony of The Star Event Centre in Sydney on Tuesday evening.

Hosting buyers, exhibitors and media from Asia, Europe and America, The Star farewelled the visiting VIPs as a 'thank you' for the week of events, promoting the Australian tourism industry, that The Star has played host to throughout ATE 2013, from 26th to 30th April 2013.

Commenting on the finale of a fantastic week for Australian inbound tourism, Tourism Australia Managing Director An drew McEvoy stated "the Australian Tourism Exchange is and has always been an essential component of our growth strategy for the Australian inbound tourism market, bringing together international delegates and Australian suppliers.

"The Last Shout at The Star was the perfect evening to bring to a close a very successful ATE in Sydney. The celebration was designed to show-off Sydney in a fitting farewell, and to leave a lasting impression on the largest travel and tourism buyers and influencers in the world."

BelleLaide Events transformed the balcony of the recently completed $100 million Event Centre to showcase the best of Australia. From the outback to the rainforest, enthralling imagery of Australia was projected onto the walls of The Star Event Centre, lighting up the night with colours of the Australian outback. Moving images of Uluru were projected onto life sized lettering of the 'OUTBACK' to provide a real 'wow' factor.

While enjoying the views of Sydney's lit up skyline, guests dined from food station to food station on Singapore Noodles, Roast Lamb, individual chocolate tarts with raspberry mousse, and Spanish Churro's with chocolate sauce. A seafood station in the pre-function space inside The Star Event Centre was piled high with fresh Australia seafood.

The Last Shout was the final farewell from The Star as host of a number of events throughout the duration of ATE 2013. The Star was proud to play host to delegates, in conjunction with Destination NSW, from China and Japan for exclusive buyer dinners across The Century and Sokyo; private events in for Chinese buyers in Bistro 80 and the infamous Qantas Club evening events in Cherry Bar, where in excess of 300 delegates continued their tradeshow floor discussions into the early hours.

The Star General Manager Sales and Marketing Jakki Temple concluded "we're very proud to have worked with Destination NSW and Tourism Australia throughout the duration of ATE 2013, and the opportunity to offer delegates the chance to experience The Star in all its glory at the farewell event after such a successful week."
