Kids Corner and sport headlines family entertainment at Grand Prix
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation has unveiled its family-friendly Kids Corner precinct at this year’s 2016 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
The Kids Corner features a new interactive Kids Sporting Zone and will offer families the opportunity to test their sporting prowess at one of the many sporting activities including basketball, football, cricket and football.
Several of Melbourne’s leading sporting teams including the Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Rebels, NRL, Netball Victoria, Melbourne Victory, Basketball Australia and Golf Victoria will all have activity stations within the Kids Sporting Zone.
Fans will be able to take part in a variety of interactive activities including inflatables and introductory skill sessions delivered by the sporting organisations. There will also be lots of giveaways up for grabs, including a Melbourne Victory signed jersey and football.
Australian Grand Prix Corporation General Manager of Motorsport and Entertainment, Craig Fletcher, said the Kids Sporting Zone serves as the perfect platform to enrich the young fan experience and further reinforces the event’s ongoing family friendly focus.
Fletcher stated “sport brings families together, so what better way to cater for this than to introduce an engaging sports zone within the Kids Corner precinct dedicated to families and sport all whilst revelling in the Formula One action.”
The Kids Corner is located on the Golf Course and will be open for families to enjoy throughout the entire event with all activities free.
For children aged 14 and under, general admission is free when accompanied by an adult general admission ticket holder.
The 2016 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix runs from 17th to 20th March.
