Kiama Leisure Centre reopened following bomb threat

Kiama Council closed the Kiama Leisure Centre to the public following the receipt of a bomb threat. Council has reopened the Centre after Police had cleared the site.

Kiama Council released a statement advising "Staff acted promptly to notify police and evacuate the building. Police attended the site for a full investigation.

"All members of the public were safely evacuated and Kiama Council thanks NSW Police, our staff and visitors for their swift action and assistance in following instructions.

"Kiama Leisure Centre closed to the public while the Police conducted their work. Police then cleared the site to re-open.

"Please direct all further enquiries to NSW Police."

Unfortunately this impacted the Combat Australia Boxing and Kickboxing MMA Tournament that was taking place at Kiama Leisure Centre today, however, the Tournament was able to resume.
