Kemp Street Sporting Complex to be revitalised

Kempsey Shire Council’s Kemp Street Sporting Complex - already a central hub for football (soccer) and other sports activities, is about to undergo an upgrade to enhance its infrastructure.

Kempsey Shire Council notes “sports are woven into the fabric of our community, bringing people together from all walks of life to celebrate shared interests, pursue fitness, and build camaraderie. As our region grows, so does the enthusiasm for local sports, making it essential that our facilities keep up with the demand.”

Commencing in November, the popular venue will be revitalised with upgraded amenities, ensuring it remains an accessible, modern, and comfortable space for all who use it.

Fencing around the facilities went up on the 4th November, marking the first visible steps in this project and keeping the project on schedule for a refreshed building in time for Christmas.

The renovation project includes a comprehensive upgrade to the Kemp Street building, led by Osborne & Dowling, bringing a fresh look and feel to the existing toilets and changerooms.

These enhancements mirror the success of the recent Service Clubs Park refurbishment earlier this year, which has been widely embraced by the community. Now, Kemp Street will benefit from the same dedication to creating inviting, up-to-date facilities.

Council adds “these upgrades represent our commitment to supporting our active, sports-loving community by providing modern, reliable facilities that encourage greater participation. This renovation stands as a testament to our focus on growing with our community's evolving needs.”
