Insurer offers molestation liability cover for organisations entrusted with the care of minors

Precision Underwriting has advised that it is able to offer a comprehensive insurance, risk management and response solution for organisations and businesses entrusted with the care of minors and vulnerable adults.

Offering access to a product from Beazley, the specialist London headquartered specialist insurer, Precision Underwriting will consider submissions from all industries and six key markets in particular: educational institutions; not-for-profit organisations; transportation providers; healthcare providers; religious institutions and aquatic, recreation and sport facilities

The Beazley Safeguard abuse product is designed to help clients reduce the risk of abuse within their organisation, as well as to respond effectively if an incident does occur and is described as “an offering that combines advanced risk management and proactive crisis response services with effective insurance.”

Commenting on the introduction of the Beazley Safeguard abuse product in Australia, Beazley Employment Practices Liability (EPL) Underwriter, Paul Nash stated “it covers claims made against institutions for wrongful acts allegedly committed by their employees, including volunteers, around sexual molestation.”

Providing his personal views on his firm’s offering, London-based Nash stated “it also covers allegations of failure to supervise in the event of a claim brought by a third party, for example a child-on-child situation.

“It provides both indemnity and defence.”

Nash said the safeguard offering was launched in Australia in response to a “market need.”

Beazley Safeguard clients have access to www.beazleysafeguard.com.au a dedicated risk management website managed by Praesidium, a risk management firm with over two decades of experience helping organisations reduce the risk of sexual abuse of vulnerable populations.
