Inaugural HoopsFest to take place across Perth sporting venues
The inaugural HoopsFest will see the NBL, WNBL and Australian U18 Club Championships play in Perth for the first time across RAC Arena, HBF Stadium, Bendat Basketball Centre and HBF Arena.
Supported by the Western Australian Government, the Fan Zone activation forms part of HoopsFest.
Open from 19th to 22nd September at Forrest Place, the Fan Zone will host meet and greets, signings and skill sessions with high-profile NBL and WNBL talent.
The pop-up court will see several competitions, including player clinics and a Special Olympics 3x3 basketball event.
Alongside live music, DJs and food trucks, the Fan Zone is set to become a hub for all things HoopsFest.
Australia's largest streetwear and sneakers event, Sneakerland, will return to Perth as part of HoopsFest and will take over RAC Arena across the same weekend.
Out-of-state visitors are expected to flock to WA for the basketball festival and get in on the exclusive action, with the countdown now on until HoopsFest slam dunks in Perth.
The event will provide a significant boost to the State's tourism and hospitality industry, building on other blockbuster sporting events held in WA this year including the UFC, Wallabies vs Springboks and an Italian Football match.
WA Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti enthused "The HoopsFest Fan Zone will be a fantastic activation as part of Australia's biggest festival of basketball, providing a central point for fans to enjoy competitions and events, plus meet and greets with NBL and WNBL players.
"We've seen with previous events like the FIFA Women's World Cup and WWE that dedicated fan zones become a hub and hive of activity throughout an event, bringing people together and creating an amazing atmosphere.
"Events really have the ability to take over a city and a community, and that's why we're so focused on not only bringing these major events to WA, but also creating activations and supporting events around them. To us, that's what being an events destination is about."
