This weekend's inaugural Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final race of the 2009 F1 world championship, has sold-out according to event organisers Yas Marina Circuit.

Approximately 50,000 spectators are expected on the 1st November race day.

As Richard Cregan, Chief Executive of the Yas Marina Circuit explained "this will be an historic race of firsts: the first F1 race at Yas Marina Circuit (and) the first day into evening F1 race.

"We've had an amazing response locally, nationally and internationally and every ticket has been sold."

The 5.5 kilometre track is straddled by the Yas Hotel and has the longest straight in F1.
