Inaugural ABEA Conference to feature leading strategists and thinkers
The Australian Business Events Association’s 2024 Conference will feature leading strategists and thinkers, bringing different perspectives on future trends and organisational growth.
The inaugural ABEA Conference to be held 10th – 11th December at ICC Sydney will bring to life its theme ‘Focused on the Future’ and provide insights, strategies and opportunities for the industry to think, plan and strengthen collaboration.
Melissa Brown, Chief Executive, ABEA said the role of the conference is to provide a platform for the entire business events community to come together to hear new ideas, network, share news and updates, and help determine our future together.
Brown noted “The ABEA Conference will work to enhance and secure the role of business events as a vital economic pillar for Australia. We will focus on sustainability, technology, storytelling, and creating lasting impact.
“As the business events industry navigates rapid changes and unprecedented challenges, this year’s conference theme aims to offer insights and strategies to ensure we are all best placed to face the future successfully.”
Keynote speakers include:
Michael McQueen, a multi-award-winning speaker, change strategist, and bestselling author of ten books, is renowned for helping global brands like Google, Toyota, and Mastercard stay ahead in evolving markets. McQueen inspires leaders worldwide with his latest research exploring the psychology of change and its critical importance in leadership and innovation.
Mark McCrindle, a globally recognised social researcher and demographer, bestselling author, and TEDx speaker, offers insights into emerging social trends and their impact on the business events landscape. His work will provide attendees with a data-driven look at the future of the business events industry.
Rosie Yeo, an esteemed strategist and author of Go For Bold: How to Create Powerful Strategy in Uncertain Times, will serve as the MC for the event. Yeo is renowned for her ability to guide organisations through complex decision-making processes and inspire bold, forward-thinking strategies.
The 2024 ABEA Conference will feature industry experts sharing valuable insights and strategies during the Plenary Sessions, as well as sector-specific discussions on critical issues in the Pillar Meetings.
Attendees can participate in Special Interest Groups focused on Sustainability, Education & Career Pathways, WH&S, and Risk Management, while Education Sessions will provide actionable takeaways for immediate business application.
