Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre's locker installation goes beyond security
The recent installation of new METRA Australia lockers at the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre in the inner Sydney suburb of Ultimo is offering swimmers not only enhanced security for their possessions but also added convenience.
METRA Australia designed and installed the High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) personal lockers, securely accessed via METRA Kiosk Touchscreen and central RFID Reader Terminal.
The keyless lockers also allow patrons and staff the convenience of payWave® cashless payments for locker rental.
METRA Australia’s durable High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) lockers feature a one-piece hinge, self-closing doors and corrosion-resistant and water-proof properties - backed with a 10-year warranty.
Each locker door was designed clean lined - with no handles or individual RFID readers on the front of the doors - and was fitted with METRA Australia’s patented hardwired electronic lock - built, without batteries, to work consistently and reliably in challenging cold and hot/humid weather environments.
In operation, members, staff and casual patrons can access personal storage lockers via a central RFID Reader Terminal and METRA Kiosk Touchscreen - back office managed with METRA ELS software. For added convenience METRA also integrated cashless payments via payWave® terminal built into the central cabinet.
Commenting on the installation, METRA Sales Manager, Andrew Yeaman stated “we are really pleased with this installation which not only showcases the durability of these lockers and their state-of-the-art technology but also in how our team customised the lockers’ visual style to align with the building aesthetic of the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre.”
