Hydrorider: Making the Most of Aquatic Exercise
The Hydrorider Aquabike caters for cardio fitness, physical therapy, strength- building and weight loss.
With a minimum of moving parts, resistance is determined by four adjustable paddle wheels that give three levels of intensity - the longer the paddle is pulled out the greater the surface volume of water taken in, hence the greater the resistance.
The Hydrorider Aquabike's flywheel gives the central movement continuous and constant resistance when pedalling, with the pedals and flywheel rotating on synthetic bearings which require no maintenance.
When linked with the Hydrorider Aqua treadmill it can create a virtual 'gym in the pool'.
Manufactured in Italy, the Hydrorider is now in its third year in Australia. During that time it has made a big impressions on its users.
At LeisureCo's Mingara One Lifestyle Centre on the NSW Central Coast a planned short term Hydrorider promotion grew dramatically as acceptance of the product led to huge demand from users. In just two months, the Mingara One Lifestyle Centre was operating 14 classes a week using 14 Hydrorider Aqua bikes as well as having a waiting list to get into this most vibrant and exciting water fitness programme.
Engadine Health and Randwick Council's Des Renford Pool have also taken this concept to the water and have increased classes within a short time.
As of 2021, Hydrorider is represented by Water Resist in Australia.
