Gold Coast lifeguard charged after driving over tourists on Surfers Paradise beach

A Gold Coast lifeguard who allegedly ran over two tourists on the beach at Surfers Paradise is to face court next month.

Police have charged the 24-year-old man with the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

A Gold Coast City Council lifeguard service four-wheel-drive hit the man and woman on 23rd December.

The tourists, both in their 20s, were hospitalised with leg and chest injuries.

The lifeguard is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court next month.
