General manager sought to lead Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre

AEG Ogden has commenced the recruitment process for a General Manager at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in Muscat.

AEG Ogden Group Director, Convention Centres, Geoff Donaghy said a global search was now was now underway to ensure the best possible candidate was selected for this world class venue, due to open in 2016.

Donaghy explained "this is a unique opportunity to oversee a pre-opening team in a 'greenfield' destination. The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre offers both a rewarding and challenging experience and the opportunity to work with a number of internationally credentialed professionals. "

Explaining that it is an exciting time leading up to the opening of the company's seventh convention and exhibition centre in the Middle East and Asia Pacific region, Dongahy added

"the beauty and diversity of the Sultanate of Oman has not only gained strong interest from international organisations to host future congresses and exhibitions at the Centre, but has also attracted strong interest in career opportunities on a global scale."

In other Centre news, Carillion Alawi has been appointed as the successful contractor to build the Exhibition Halls, three-storey Carpark and Energy Centre.

The Oman & Convention Exhibition Centre is being built in two phases with the 22,000 metre2 of Exhibition Halls completed in 2015 and auditorium, banquet halls and meeting rooms scheduled for completion in late 2016.
