Fun Fit Kidz opens as Sydney's first fitness facility for children
The recently opened Fun Fit Kidz in the Western Sydney suburb of Bankstown is the city's first child focused and based gym first fitness facility, with machines and programs all suited to children between the ages of five and 15 years.
The facility was the brainchild of owner Rowah Mawass, who has a goal to not only get children active, fit and healthy, but to also hopefully make a generational change in fitness levels.
Mawass, who has operated child-orientated fitness boot camps in Western Sydney for five years, explains “obesity rates in Australia are climbing faster than anywhere else in the world which is a scary thought.
“With obesity comes a long list of health concerns, the implications of which on future generations has the potential to be pretty serious.
“I really wanted to create a space where kids can get fit, have fun and learn that living a healthy lifestyle from an early age is possible.”
Offering classes including Zumba, Plyometrics and Boxercise and featuring a selection of innovative and interactive products from EYE Fitness, Mawass aims for the facility to help to get children moving to make a generational change for the better.
EYE Fitness products at Fun Fit Kidz include the engaging and fun Traverse Wall and four pieces of Prime pin-loaded machines designed specifically for children.
Mawass adds “we feel we’ve selected a great bunch of products from EYE Fitness, that will appeal to our target market because they are interactive, fun and engaging.”
Commenting on the installation, EYE Fitness Director Nick Aspinall stated “Fun Fit Kidz is a great space and an even greater concept.
“To be part of a journey that can only improve the quality of life through fitness, education and fun for our kids and generations to come is something we’re very proud to be part of.”
Fun Fit Kidz is located in Bankstown’s South Terrace Plaza.
