FS8 adds Mick Fanning’s new workout to its studio timetables across Australia
FS8 Ambassador and world champion surfer, Mick Fanning has launched the workout - Point Break - a cardio focused workout inspired by his surfing training program which will be added to the FS8 studio timetables across Australia this Summer.
Fanning has been an FS8 Ambassador since its inception in 2021 and has long favoured low-impact training to strengthen his flexibility, mind-body connection, and muscular control. This training style has been a regular part of his intense fitness routine for many years.
Fanning credits this low-impact style of training as his secret weapon for maintaining peak physical form and staying mentally strong.
Fanning shares “the essence of life is moving; the moment you stop things you just start seizing up. I no longer need to bulk up’, I want to be flexible and stay flexible, and with FS8 you’re strengthening while you're lengthening… so you’re preventing injury.
“The movements in Point Break have been inspired by my time spent in the water. With a focus on mobility, balance and mental strength, workout enthusiasts will need to dig deep as the waves start to roll in to feel the benefits both physically and mentally.
“From this workout, I want people to feel like they’ve accomplished something, I want them to feel strong, but I also want them to feel like they are super mobile.”
Fanning’s surfing moves perfected over his illustrious career were used as the inspiration behind the range of motions in Point Break, a cardio-based workout.
FS8 General Manager Janina Czado is excited to welcome Point Break by Mick Fanning to the FS8 timetable across Australia.
Czado adds “we’ve long known that this style of training is regularly incorporated into the fitness regimes of elite athletes around the world. We’re extremely privileged to have an athlete of Mick’s calibre partner with our Athletics Team to create a low impact workout suitable for all fitness levels.
“This high energy session designed by Mick will give members a chance to reimagine what strength means to them, both physically and mentally.”
FS8 describes their offering as “fitness like you’ve never felt. Pilates, Tone and Yoga remixed, it’s developed to strengthen every body and every mind without the fluff.”
The scientifically backed workout structure was established in consultation with Dr Lee Wallace, who holds a Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Science, and is delivered by FS8 expert trainers at over 40 studios across Australia. FS8 is programmed centrally through the FS8 technology platform, which ensures consistency in FS8 studios no matter the coach.
The FS8 signature workout is structured on eight elements that support the foundation for building strength. There are four training pillars; Hybrid, Strength, Cardio, and Restore, with each workout having specific focuses to help members link their individual goals.
Point Break by Mick Fanning focuses on cardio, mobility, and mental health in a 50-minute sweat session.
