Free webinars on member retention strategies

Member Retention specialists MobileFit Australia will be running a series of free member retention 'webinars' for one week at the end of February.
The webinars are aimed at health and fitness club owners and managers interested in learning successful member retention strategies.
MobileFit Australia's Lane Harrison believes that clubs can gain a distinct advantage in 2012 by placing greater emphasis on member retention.
Harrison explains "health clubs that focus more on membership retention now and take the time to model other successful clubs will enjoy a significant advantage over their competitors. The best time to place greater emphasis on member retention is now at the start of a new year."
Harrison predicts that 2012 will be an important year for health clubs and refers to the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA)'s guide to membership retention to highlight his prediction, adding "according to IHRSA's guide to member retention, competition within the industry is increasing. With increased competition, the cost of acquiring new members and replacing lost members is rising, thus making membership retention more important every year.
"It is one thing to be able to 'outrun' attrition in virgin, non-competitive markets (but) it is a different thing to 'outrun' attrition in more mature and competitive markets. In the first type of market, it is feasible - and possibly even desirable - to forget about attrition and focus totally on membership acquisition. But in the second type of market - mature, competitive markets - it becomes progressively more important to focus on keeping every member you haveï¾ because every member that leaves is more difficult to replace."
Harrison says that despite the challenges the industry faces in 2012 many savvy health clubs are enjoying great success by spending greater time focusing on member retention.
He emphasises "we believe that education is the key to success, the more clubs learn about member retention the greater likelihood of long term success.
"Our webinar is designed to summarise the best available information on the topic from a number of reputable sources and allows health club owners and managers to digest this information in one sitting."
to learn more about proven member retention strategies, health and fitness club owner and managers can attend MobileFit Australia's free webinar session in the comfort of their own home or office.
