Four Years of Fun
Luna Park Sydney has celebrated the fourth anniversary of its reopening.
Vacant and unused over many years, the 2004 rebirth of the iconic venue stemmed from enterprising Directors Peter Hearne and Warwick Doughty recognising Luna Park's cultural significance and the special place it had in the hearts of Sydneysiders and its international visitors alike.
After winning the tender to take over the site, they blew the dust off the once loved amusements and breathed life into the iconic and historic precinct.
Now, some four years on:
• Over 4.5 million people have visited Luna Park
• The Ferris Wheel has clocked up 506,880 rotations
• There have been 168 marriage proposals
The new Luna Park Sydney also offers a 3,000 capacity entertainment venue, live music, function facilities and an extensive brasserie.
