Former Aktiv Solutions Australia Managing Director slams Gym Solutions installation claims
Ross Barbour, the former Managing Director of Aktiv Solutions Australia, has slammed claims over an installation of equipment Sydney-based Gym Solutions says it carried out at a South Pacific Health Clubs facility in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda.
Barbour, who now lives in the UK, took to Facebook following Gym Solutions promoting the installation, referencing the owner of the company in stating "my last act while still MD of Aktiv Solutions Australia to make sure that this dodgy individual (presumably a reference to Gym Solutions Director Jason O'Connor, ed) had nothing to do with installing what was my design, (which) the owner and I wanted to ensure based on his previous history of disgustingly shoddy work that he had nothing to do with this install."
In a Facebook post yesterday, Gym Solutions had written "Gym Solutions did the install for South Pacific Health Clubs world’s first three-zoned altitude training facility at ALTITUDE88 in St Kilda, Melbourne. The setup took 4 days and included dynamic training solutions from Aktiv Solutions Australia. We installed the Rig, flooring, all accessories, assault bikes, air dyne bikes, skill mill and all of the aqua bags. Has to be seen to be believed!"
Writing on Facebook this morning (19th October), an incensed Barbour stated "Apparently, as per his own FB page, this dodgy Irishman, the now owner of the company I left to continue dealing in what in my opinion are his dodgy business antics, is now claiming he installed this first of a kind installation in Melbourne over 4 days.
"In fact my last act while still MD of Aktiv Solutions Australia was to make sure that this dodgy individual had nothing to do with installing what was my design, with the owner and I wanted to ensure based on his previous history of disgustingly shoddy work that he had nothing to do with this install. I employed a reputable company, based in Melbourne, to deliver what was my vision for this well respected health facility but was unable to see this install finished, as I had to leave Australia and start all over again back in the UK.
"It saddens me to see that the US based manufacturer of what I used to regard as a great functional product manufacturer is happy to let this said individual make such claims and I am sure the likes of Cuoco Black and Mel Tempest would recognise that the industry is full of such individuals making such claims.
"I couldn’t let this individual make such claims knowing he had nothing to do with installing this fit out but hey ho, here he is again building his reputation on my hard work. It is what it is. Good riddance to having to deal with such individuals ever again.
"It is great to no longer have to deal with such fake news."
