Football Australia invites participation in survey to help with future planning and development
Recent football participants, are being invited by Football Australia to participate in a survey being conducted by the ‘Sport and Recreation Spatial’ Research Group (a collaborative venture of Federation University Australia and Victoria University) researching patterns and rates of participation, retention and drop-out in community sports.
In particular, they are eager to better understand what motivates Australian adults and children to play football, any obstacles they face to playing or reasons for dropping out of organised football, and how sport participation relates to their health and life satisfaction.
This research has a number of potential benefits for the Australian community, which include:
guiding future planning and development by government;
informing recruitment and development strategies to gain, maintain and retain players and members;
guiding facility infrastructure planning and development in order to maximise participation in sport; and
directing community strategic planning in sport and recreation.
Football Australia advise that the survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and by participating you will also go in the draw to win a Socceroos signed jersey valued at $500! See the terms and conditions here.
