Flood waters inundate Molong Olympic Pool
Days of heavy rains in western NSW have today seen the Molong Olympic Pool and much of the central west region town inundated with flood waters
As catchment areas are drenched and dams overflow around NSW, the the Mitchell Highway has also been closed by the rising flood waters.
The past fortnight have seen parts of regional NSW inundated with heavy rainfall - at the end of a record wet spring - bursting creeks and rivers and triggering major flood warnings and dam spills.
The rising waters of the Molong Creek staff at the Olympic Pool close the facility as of yesterday, then go about removing essential equipment and chemicals from the site.
Clean up operations are expected to start in the coming days.
