Flippa Ball success at Goldfields Oasis
Western Australia’s newest Flippa Ball program has been launched at the Goldfields Oasis aquatic centre in Kalgoorlie.
With the program beginning earlier this year with a 20 child enrolment limit, the popularity of the modified non contact version of water polo soon expanded to 35 children as demand grew.
As a result the Goldfields Oasis has taken on volunteers with plenty of experience in the sport, some of them even having played water polo professionally.
Commenting on the rapid growth, Goldfields Oasis acting Programs Coordinator Carly Agot stated “we brought the goals out for the first time (last) Tuesday which worked really well.
“We had one in the deep end for the older group and one in the shallow end for the younger ages.
“We have more volunteers involved now which has been a huge help.
“About four volunteers are guaranteed to rock up each week plus a few parents on the side line are always willing to help out.”
With the help of volunteers, children enrolled in Flippa Ball learn all the necessary skills and develop the fitness for water polo. With the help of volunteers the program will be able to progress in the future.
