Fitness First teams up with Vodafone/3 for free access promotion

Fitness First Australia has launched a promotion with mobile provider Vodafone/3 to offer free access to Fitness First clubs on Tuesday and Thursdays in November.
To gain access, club visitors and a friend need only 'flash' their Vodafone/3 mobile phone, modem or tablet to the reception on their first visit at any one of Fitness First's Australian clubs.
Therafter they are given a Vodafone Fitness Rewards card which they can use to get into the club on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the remainder of the month.
The Vodafone Hutchison Australia website explains that the pass includes free access "to all of our facilities, including state of the art equipment and a wide range of Group Exercise classes such as Yoga, Pilates, BodyPump and Boxing."
Amid reports of falling memberships and apparent plans by UK owners BC Capital to sell Fitness First Australia, the group has kept a low profile during 2011.
However the Group, which operates at more than 90 locations across Australia, is currently undertaking pre sales at two new Platinum (premium) clubs: at Elizabeth Street in Brisbane and Top Ryde in Sydney. Both clubs are set to open in March next year.
