Fitness First announces foundation partnerships with NRL Women’s Premiership and Touch Football Australia
The Fitness and Lifestyle Group-owned Fitness First is to become a foundation partner of the inaugural NRL Holden Women’s Premiership and Touch Football Australia in a new multi-year deal.
The partnership will see all NRL Women’s contracted players and select Touch Football Australia representatives provided with access to Fitness First clubs throughout Australia for the next two years.
NRL General Manager of Commercial & Digital Strategy, Todd Hewitt welcomed Fitness First to the NRL corporate partner family, commenting “it’s fantastic to partner with a brand that is so active in promoting female sports participation and member experience.”
Touch Football Australia Chief Executive Steve Mitchell added “touch football has an even gender split and we are really excited by the benefits that both our female and male athletes will realise from the partnership.”
In addition, a number of co-marketing opportunities have been agreed and certain players will have the chance to undertake work experience and personal training development at Fitness First facilities.
The Fitness First brand will feature at NRLW major events and through both NRL.com and Touch Football Australia digital and social channels.
Explaining the rationale behind the deal Fitness First General Manager, David Aitchison advised “with less than one in five Australian teenagers getting the recommended physical activity a day, and girls being twice as likely as boys to be inactive, it’s important we work with organisations such as the NRL to inspire girls to move.”
The Fitness First partnership follows Holden, Harvey Norman and Rebel Sport as foundation partners of the NRL Holden Women’s Premiership.
The inaugural NRL Holden Women’s Premiership Final kicks off Sunday 30th September at 1:35 pm with the Brisbane Broncos taking on the Sydney Roosters at ANZ Stadium.
The Holden Women’s Premiership has been a resounding success to date with over onem viewers across Nine, Fox and the Telstra live stream through three rounds, whilst 58,000 fans have been in attendance.
