Fitness Australia releases national membership contract template, appoints new board member
Mindful that compliance with Australian consumer and contract law is critical for fitness clubs, Fitness Australia has joined with Meridian Lawyers to develop the first national member contract template for fitness business owners.
Guidance notes embedded within the document will provide guidance for Fitness Australia members as how to best adapt the contract template for specific fitness businesses.
Fitness Australia has also announced the appointment of Max Martin as a Director of the peak industry body.
Martin has been appointed to fill a casual vacancy on the Board, following the resignation of Greg Hurst in December 2013. He will take office from the next Board meeting, scheduled for 2nd April 2014.
Martin, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Registered Exercise Professional with Fitness Australia, is a Director of iNform Health and Fitness Solutions, based in Adelaide.
A former recipient of the Fitness Australia Chairman's Award he is a Member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) Council.
When considering this appointment, the Board took into account the need to complement the Board with the inclusion of a recognised and respected leader who could assist Fitness Australia to achieve its goal of enhancing the industry’s capacity to deliver quality services through standard setting, education learning and development.
Martin is also well equipped to contribute to Fitness Australia's strategy of improved integration between the health and fitness sectors. As the owner/operator of a small business in the fitness industry, that is focused on personal training, Max is also able to represent the issues and concerns of this important industry segment.
