Fitness Australia launches 'state of the industry' survey
Peak body Fitness Australia has engaged Deloitte Access Economics to undertake a comprehensive survey of fitness industry stakeholders, the results of which will be used to produce a 2012 State of the Industry Report.
Fitness Australia is planning for this vital initiative to occur on an annual basis providing the industry with valuable data.
On its website Fitness Australia states "access to current quality data is essential for us to advocate on issues that are important to (our members), and to ensure that developments in the industry support your professional and business success into the future."
The survey aims to help fitness businesses to:
• Plan their service delivery and ensure their business model is meeting the needs of consumers;
• Attract recognition from government and other stakeholders; and
• Implement industry policies to support business growth and quality outcomes.
Fitness Australia adds "while there are a number of surveys taken of the fitness industry, there remain some information gaps.
"For a comprehensive and consistent picture each year, Deloitte Access Economics has thus been commissioned to field this brief web based survey to fitness industry stakeholders, and the information collected will be amalgamated with other data sources in compiling the annual report.
"The purpose of the survey is to obtain ... views, identify issues and engage with the industry on workforce and economic issues."
All information gathered will be treated confidentially and only summaries of results will be reported. Individual businesses will not be identified.
Fitness Australia is asking for responses by Thursday 3rd May 2012.
