Fit n Fast launch offers 'Quickie' Fitness
New fitness industry entrant Fit n Fast has opened its first club in the western Sydney suburb of Penrith.
Founded by industry veteran Tony de Leede, the former Chief Executive of Fitness First Australia, and Mark Smith, the former Chief Executive/Chairman of TSI New York, along with a small consortium of partners, the club is offering 30-minute workouts, which they have dubbed ‘the Quickie’, as part of what they say will be a “cheaper, better, faster”’ approach to fitness.
With plans to open 100 clubs in Australia in the next seven to 10 years, and a second site in Sydney’s Paddington due to open in July, Smith explains that “the clubs will be designed to accommodate all sorts of 30 minute workouts, from circuits to spin classes, 30 minute results focused personal training sessions and ‘express zones’, as well as accommodating those that want to do more.”
In addition to ‘quickie’ workouts, Fit n Fast’s offering is based on cheap prices and no contracts.
Claiming to be ‘the cheapest workout in Australia’, the non contract memberships will cost users less than $10 a week. Meanwhile, there will be ‘no compromise’ on facilities with the clubs being equipped with top of the line new equipment.
As de Leede explains “we live in a world where people have been conditioned to think the only way to exercise and get results is to workout for up to 60 minutes or more and we know this is simply not the case.
“(In this) busy world … people have very little time and are very conscious of what they spend. We have developed a concept that not only accommodates people’s time, but also their wallets without compromising on the facilities.”
Fit n Fast’s arrival in Australia was exclusively announced by Australasian Leisure Management on 7th April 2010.
