FINA Convention to present global vision for aquatic sport

World swimming governing body FINA has announced details of the 1st World Aquatics Convention.

To be held in the Uruguayan resort of Punta del Este between 27th and 29th September 2010 the event aims to present a unique opportunity to gather more than 700 of the aquatic industryâs global protagonists, including: Olympic partners; national federations; sponsors, broadcasters and media; event organisers, bidding and host cities; partners; suppliers and companies in the aquatic and sports event business.

Following FINA's success during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the outstanding figures of TV audience during the 2009 FINA World Championships, which were seen by over 3.5 billion viewers worldwide, FINA is ready to present its vision for aquatic sport in 21st century through the development of its FINA Member National Federations.

The 1st FINA World Aquatics Convention will constitute a major milestone for the aquatic sport community to come together in order to explore new horizons, developments, communications platforms and technologies, share knowledge and develop ideas, build up networking and establish new relationships.
