Felton Industries launches new sheltered grandstand seating range for enhanced spectator comfort, safety and shelter

Felton Industries, Australia’s leading designer, manufacturer, and supplier of premium Australian-made aluminium outdoor furniture, has announced the availability of its new Sunsafe Select and Sunsafe Comfort sheltered grandstands range.

The new range provides different length, accessibility, and colouring options for greater customisation, comfort, inclusivity, and structural safety for sports clubs, schools, event venues, and community spaces across Australia.

The new range builds on Felton’s existing grandstand range, introducing a high-quality integrated shelter and enhanced configurations, including wider footwells, additional length, and new accessibility options. The Sunsafe sheltered grandstands range is engineered for all weather conditions, offering seating capacity for up to 60 people with protection from harsh UV rays and increased ease of access.

Simon Clayton, product marketing manager, Felton Industries, enthused “we’re excited to bring the new Felton sheltered grandstand range to the Australian market. It reflects our commitment to designing practical, high-performing seating solutions that put people first. Whether you’re managing a footy oval in Victoria, a netball court in Queensland, or a community venue anywhere in between, these grandstands provide a safe, comfortable, and compliant spectator experience.”

Felton’s new Sunsafe Select and Sunsafe Comfort sheltered grandstand range features both four-metre and six-metre versions, now available with integrated guardrails for additional structural integrity and user safety. The six-metre model incorporates extended batten-style shelter supports and is fixed to the ground using a bolt system, delivering strong resistance against high winds.

Felton also offers a Wind C-certified version to meet stricter compliance requirements for regions that require additional wind resilience, such as coastal Queensland and parts of Western Australia. All configurations are structurally certified, reinforcing Felton’s ongoing commitment to quality, compliance, and long-term performance in public spaces.

A key point of differentiation is the new wheelchair-accessible configuration, providing inclusive seating options that reflect Felton’s customer-first approach. This model features a dedicated cut-out space that accommodates wheelchair users without compromising comfort, visibility, or safety. All grandstands are constructed using marine-grade aluminium, creating a weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and rust-proof solution ideally suited to Australia’s diverse climates.

Clayton adds “Inclusivity, structural integrity, and climate adaptability were central to the development of this range. Our customers are increasingly looking for outdoor seating that both protects their communities from the elements and meets evolving safety and certification requirements. This range answers that need, with options to suit both standard and high-wind regions, plus flexible sizing and wheelchair accessibility across the board.”

Felton’s new grandstands have been engineered without structural poles embedded in the seating area, maximising usable space and audience comfort. The absence of obstructions and the inclusion of wider footwell areas let spectators enter and exit easily, avoiding contact with the seat or knees of the person in front. A new stairwell option is also available on selected Comfort models to enhance access where needed.

Customers can customise the grandstands to align with school or club branding in a selection of six colours, including red, blue, green, yellow, orange, and purple. Customisation can be applied to the frame, guardrails, and end caps, while the seating itself is typically uncoated to preserve safety and longevity.

Key features:

  • widths of 4m and 6m

  • up to 60-person seating capacity

  • wheelchair-accessible version available

  • structurally certified for public use, with optional Wind C-certification for high-wind areas

  • marine-grade aluminium construction for weather resistance and durability

  • customisable frame, guardrail, and end cap colours (metallic silver planks remain standard).

The new sheltered grandstands meet growing demand for spectator seating that is both functional and attractive for sporting clubs, councils, and education providers, among other applications. Their durable, low-maintenance construction and compliance with national structural certification standards make them a smart investment for organisations seeking quality infrastructure that lasts.

The range continues Felton’s reputation for building outdoor furniture that is designed and manufactured in Australia, and that delivers on safety, quality and community value.

Felton’s sheltered grandstand range offers premium features at a competitive price point, with a starting price of $17,999.
