Far North District Council and Sportsville sign park management agreement
A joint Management Agreement aimed at improving, developing and enhancing Lindvart Park in Kaikohe has been signed by the Far North District Council and community sports organisation, Kaikohe and Districts Sportsville.
Confirmed before Christmas, the agreement follows on from the October 2018 adoption by Council of a new Reserve Management Plan for Lindvart Park.
The Management Agreement will see Council and Sportsville work together to empower the community so it can play a key role in administering and managing Kaikohe’s premier sporting venue. The aim is to better cater to the evolving recreational needs of the community and to encourage healthier outcomes for park users.
Sportsville was formed to facilitate greater collaboration between different sporting codes in the Kaikohe area by providing shared sporting facilities.
Representing Sportsville was current Sportsville Chair, Teropu Poa, and past Chair, Taal Smith, who is the key contact with the Council.
