Fans to get free public transport to Bankwest Stadium for first Wanderers game

Return travel on public transport services will be included in all tickets to the Western Sydney Wanderers v Leeds United game at Bankwest Stadium this Saturday. The included transport comes courtesy of Bankwest, the venue’s naming rights partner.

Bankwest Executive General Manager, Customer Experience, Andrew Chanmugam commented "(it will be) an amazing experience for the local community and supporters in Western Sydney to see a world-famous club like Leeds United playing the Wanderers at a world-class venue. We’re pleased to add to that experience by paying for patrons travel on public transport to and from the game.”

Eventgoers will be able to travel on train, bus or other public transport services to and from Parramatta using just their event ticket.

The fixture will see the Wanderers return to Parramatta for the first time to take on English club Leeds United.

Bankwest Stadium Chief Executive Daryl Kerry thanked Bankwest and Transport NSW for agreeing to the public transport initiative in making the fan experience more enjoyable, adding “Bankwest Stadium has been built for the fans and we want every part of the experience on Saturday to be enjoyable in what will be a special evening for football fans.”

The day is set to be a celebration of football with a host of family football activations and pre-game entertainment in the precinct.

Bankwest Stadium was featured as the cover story in the latest issue of Australasian Leisure Management magazine.
