Expressions of Interest open for Aboriginal Heritage Advisory

The Western Australian Government has opened Expressions of Interest to fill five positions on the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Committee from July 2025

The Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Committee provides guidance under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, encouraging the management of Western Australia's rich Aboriginal heritage.

The Committee is looking to fill five positions that will become vacant in July 2025. Individuals with strong experience in Aboriginal culture and heritage are urged to nominate for a place on the Committee. Specialists with experience in anthropology, archaeology and engineering are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those with lived experience of Aboriginal culture and heritage.

WA Aboriginal Affairs Minister Dr Tony Buti noted "this is an extraordinary opportunity for individuals to provide advice on Aboriginal cultural heritage in Western Australia.

"I encourage nominations from people with strong experience and a deep connection to heritage who are ready to make a meaningful impact in safeguarding these invaluable assets for generations to come."

Expressions of Interest close Friday, 14th March 2025.
