Expressions of Interest now open for Advisory Group to implement Equity Arts and Disability Plan
Expressions of Interest are being sought from d/Deaf and disabled artists, arts workers and screen practitioners across Australia to join an Implementation Advisory Group to guide activities under the 'Equity: the Arts and Disability Associated Plan'.
Creative Australia welcomed the release of 'Equity: the Arts and Disability Associated Plan' in November 2024 - the Australian Government’s strategy to support equity for Australian artists, arts workers and audiences with disability.
The Advisory Group will be made up of d/Deaf and disabled artists and arts workers from diverse backgrounds with experience in the arts, screen, digital games or cultural sectors as paid members. This ensures people with disability are part of implementing, monitoring and evaluating key activities under the Plan. Members will be paid for their time preparing and attending meetings.
An initiative under Revive, the Australian Government’s National Cultural Policy, 'Equity: the Arts and Disability Associated Plan (the Plan)' was developed in collaboration with artists and art workers with disability and will be delivered by the Office for the Arts (OFTA) and Creative Australia, in close consultation with Screen Australia. It is an action under Australia’s National Cultural Policy, Revive and is an Associated Plan under Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-2031.
More information about the Advisory Group and the EOI process, is on OFTA’s Arts and Disability webpage.
