Events to boost Queensland 2025 economy by $1 billion
The Queensland Government has anticipated that events secured through Tourism and Events Queenslandfor 2025 will inject more than $1 billion into the state's economy.
More than 177 events have been locked in so far for 2025, through Tourism and Events Queensland offering something for the whole family from Bluey's World in Brisbane and the Pacific Airshow on the Gold Coast to the NRL Magic Round or the British and Irish Lions at Suncorp Stadium.
Also in the calendar are music festivals from the beach to the outback with Savannah in the Round and Birdsville's Big Red Sunset Concert, along with a variety of arts and cultural events from the 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art at QAGOMA to the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair.
Unique events like the Julia Creek Dirt and Dust Festival, Jumpers and Jazz in July and the Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular will showcase the state’s region's offerings, along with the return of events like the Magic Millions Carnival on the Gold Coast.
Tourism and Events Queensland Group Executive Events, Richard Clarke said no matter the time of year, it's a good time to come to Queensland to experience an event adding "Events play a pivotal role in not only attracting visitors to the state, but getting them to stay longer and generating a significant economic return for communities across Queensland.
"Our events also celebrate Queensland's unique and diverse story which raises the profile of our destinations and keeps people coming back for more."
