ESSA unveils new branding
Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) has unveiled new branding for its activities which, it says sets "a strong direction for its future, while paying homage to three decades of growth".
Advising that the modernisation of the brand solidifies the body’s position as a leading entity within the allied health and sports sectors, ESSA Chief Executive, Danielle Smith stated “as with any industry, ours is constantly evolving. Our next step as an organisation is to have an identity and purpose that reflects the transformative impact our near 10,000 accredited members continue to have on everyday Aussies to elite athletes.
“Our new brand will strengthen our industry presence and public profile and align our professions within Australia’s evolving health and performance landscape.
Noting that the change also represents a renewed commitment to member experience and bolder advocacy efforts for improved health and performance outcomes, Smith added “this marks ESSA’s first brand initiative since we changed our name more than 14 years ago. With it we are setting the stage for the long-term growth of our professions, affording benefits for both members and the Australian community.
“The new brand has helped clarify our vision – an Australia where exercise and sports science is recognised as vital to health and performance, and to redefine our purpose – to represent and advance the exercise and sports science profession, driving excellence and community recognition.
“Included in our new brand identity is ESSA’s new logo, that aims to increase our visibility and recognition with a symbol that captures dynamic human movement, representing the scope of what our professions do.
“This means we can better communicate and elevate our professions as we continue to grow and become more essential in preventative health care and peak performance with Brisbane 2032 on the horizon.”
This third evolution of the ESSA brand will also see the relaunch of the organisation’s website which promises an improved user experience.
The launch of the new brand and website marks the culmination of a year-long project involving the ESSA Board, members, staff, external stakeholders and brand strategy consultants.
