EOIs open for membership on new Dunedin Music Advisory Panel

EOIs open for membership on new Dunedin Music Advisory Panel

The Dunedin City Council is calling for Expressions of Interest for membership on a new Music Advisory Panel, which will play a key role in advising and supporting the implementation of the Ōtepoti Live Music Action Plan.

Those with a passion for Ōtepoti Dunedin’s vibrant and varied music scenes have a chance to help shape a more harmonious future.

Ideal candidates should have a broad understanding of, and experience within, various aspects of Ōtepoti Dunedin’s vibrant music ecosystem.

Jeanette Wikaira, General Manager Arts, Culture and Recreation notes “The Music Advisory Panel provides an opportunity for the voices of the city’s diverse music communities to be heard.”

There are five general and one youth (24 years and under) positions to be filled via the expressions of interest process.

Mana whenua will be invited to nominate a representative and the final composition of the panel will be chosen by and approved by Council.

Members of the Music Advisory Panel will meet at least four times per year to advise and support the DCC’s implementation of the Action Plan, monitor its progress, and share developments with their communities and other stakeholders. Advisory Panel members are not remunerated.

The Ōtepoti Live Music Action Plan is Dunedin City Council’s (DCC) commitment to the people who experience, participate, create, and support live music in our city, now and into the future. It provides a solid foundation for the support and development of a diverse and sustainable music ecosystem.

The application deadline is Friday 27th September 2024.
