Enrolments open for Recreation Planning Diploma

HM Leisure Planning has announced that it will again be offering its nationally-accredited vocational and educational training (VET) course in recreation planning.

The fully-accredited Diploma course is offered under the auspices of the National Business Institute of Australia, a Registered Training Organisation with the Federal Government.

The unique course, run by Dr Ken Marriott (pictured), is designed for professionals who have responsibility for managing recreation planning staff and programs, who carry out recreation planning studies, or who would like to move into recreation planning. It combines a comprehensive review of and practical exercises on the full scope of modern-day recreation planning, together with detailed research Units on information management, people management, conducting market research, team effectiveness and performance management, project budgeting, managing operational plans, and the development and implementation of strategic plans.

Successful participants will earn a Diploma in Business Management in recreation planning.

The forthcoming course will be run in Melbourne and Sydney (depending on demand) over a period of 12 months from late November and will entail four two-day lecture, workshop and research sessions throughout the year with each session being followed by a series of projects and assignments which participants will undertake in their own work environment or community.

Material for the course will be drawn from the workplace of candidates and from Dr Marriott's 40 years of experience in academic and professional recreation planning. Unit writing sessions will be run through the course so as to guide candidates toward the successful completion of the Diploma.

Numbers will be limited to 12 participants.

Enrolments should be submitted by post or by email before 28th October, with the first classes planned for the weekend of 19th and 20th November 2011.

Upon enrolment, candidates will be provided with a full course Manual, a list of other reference materials to be used and preliminary reading and research to be undertaken prior to the initial weekend course meeting.

Those wishing to enroll in the course or who seek further information are invited to contact Dr Marriott at HM Leisure Planning on 03 9399 1614, E: diploma@hmleisureplanning.comwww.hmleisureplanning.com
