Energie opens club in Qatar

The first ever énergie Fitness Club in the Middle East has been opened in Doha, Qatar.

Located close to the Doha International Airport, the new $4 million facility boasts Precor cardio and resistance equipment, a dedicated boxing/combat studio, private personal training studio and dedicated customer amenities and services.

The launch is part of énergie's strategy to open a number of new clubs being in Qatar and across the Middle East during 2010.

The Middle Eastern expansion plans for the group are headed by énergie's Operations Director Nad Miyan, who explained "the response to the energie fitness club concept in Qatar has exceeded our expectations and budget.

"We opened the club with 750 members and enquires are at unprecedented levels".

Jan Spaticchia, énergie Chief Executive added âthis is a momentous time for the énergie group and completes a vision I had many years ago. We have great plans for Qatar and the Middle East which we believe will grow with the same success as we have had in the UK."

énergie Doha Airport is owned by GSSG Holdings under a Master franchise agreement.
