Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre works now complete

The Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre, located in Echuca northern Victoria, has reinstalled the solar panels on the centre’s roof with the pool heating systems now fully operational. The pool is set to open on Saturday, 1st February.

Regulatory and Community Services General Manager, Paul McKenzie said works to replace the interior ceiling, along with insulation upgrades, went to schedule and the pool will now be back in action.

McKenzie advised “the works were undertaken in January as it is the quietest month of the year with no learn to swim classes, competitions or school group activities. General public usage is also very low in January.”

New and improved diving blocks will also be installed by Tuesday, 11th February, in time for the first swimming carnival of the year.

McKenzie added “the new starting blocks will meet modern safety guidelines and are better suited for competition.

“Pool lane usage has also been reassessed with lanes six, seven and eight now solely dedicated to public recreation and lap swimming.

“It is great to see so many centre improvements that will benefit our community.”
