E-scooters relaunch across three of Adelaide’s coastal councils
The Cities of Port Adelaide Enfield, Charles Sturt and West Torrens are relaunching the e-scooter trial along the coastal path from Outer Harbor to West Beach.
Both tourists and locals will be able to ride a scooter along the coastal path and nearby streets in the three Council areas, as a fun, easy to access and environmentally friendly alternative to driving.
E-scooter providers Neuron Mobility and Beam will each operate 250 e-scooters along the foreshore during the trial. E-scooters will be permitted to operate from 6.00am to 9.00pm, seven days per week. Designated parking areas and go-slow zones have been identified, with scooters automatically restricted to 5km/hr in these areas. All other areas will have a speed restriction of 15km/hr.
Clear signage is provided along the route with footpath stickers designating geofenced go-slow zones and parking areas where users can disengage from their ride while ensuring scooters are parked properly and remain upright.
In the current climate, e-scooters provide a clean, safe and efficient personal transport option for locals and tourists alike. With the restrictions on travel easing, they are the perfect way to get out and explore Adelaide’s coastal areas.
The scooters feature a range of cutting-edge anti-viral measures introduced to keep them clean and to safeguard riders. Despite the reduced COVID-19 risks in South Australia, both scooter providers have teams on hand to continually sanitise and keep e-scooters germ-free.
