Dubbo Regional Theatre reopens to the public

The Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre has reopened, welcoming the public for the first time since March as of last Wednesday.

With Coronavirus restrictions having started to ease in NSW as of 1st July, Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) Manager, Linda Christof, says that staff have been busy working behind-the-scenes during the closure period, making sure things are COVIDSafe when the public returns.

With the DRTCC’s first scheduled performance due to be Club Soda, presented by Raconteur Productions, on Saturday 22nd August followed by The Rock Show Oz Edition on Saturday 5th September, the venue’s box office is now open.

Christof advises that “the Box Office (is open) … for anyone who wants to purchase tickets, check on the status of shows, or buy gift certificates. We’re also encouraging cashless transactions wherever possible, so that we can keep our patrons and staff safe.”

Online services are also available to purchase tickets and make other transactions, as well as phone services for those who prefer to limit their contact with the community.

Christof adds “if you’re coming to visit us at the DRTCC, you’ll notice things are a little different, with floor markings at a safe distance, sanitiser stations, and a table for you to sign-in so that we can keep a record of who’s coming and going.”

Dubbo Region Mayor Ben Shields, said that having shows returning to the DRTCC is an exciting step in the Council’s recovery from COVID-19 adding “most of our Council facilities are back up and running, and it’ll be great to have the DRTCC joining the list on Wednesday. DRTCC has the benefit of a number of large open spaces, to be able to comply with the 1.5m rule within the 4 square metre rule.”
