AEG Ogden's Geoff Donaghy re-elected to World Congress Body

Senior AEG Ogden executive, Geoff Donaghy has been re-elected Vice-President of the International Association of Congress Centres (AIPC) for a further two year term.

He was re-elected at the recent annual AIPC conference in Spain.

Brussels based AIPC comprises 160 of the world's leading convention facilities in 53 countries. Founded in 1958, AIPC undertakes a wide ranging program of research, education and lobbying activities.

Donaghy is the Group Director of Convention and Exhibition Centres for AEG Ogden, the largest venue management company in the Asia Pacific region.

AEG Ogden is a joint venture between the Ogden IFC and the Anschutz Entertainment Group of the United States, and operates five convention centres among the 17 venues in its international network.

These convention centres are in Brisbane, Cairns and Darwin centres; the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia and the Qatar National Convention Centre currently under construction in Doha in the Middle East.

Donaghy is also the Chairman of the Business Events Council of Australia, the country's peak convention and exhibition industry representative body, and was recognised earlier this year for his outstanding contribution to the meetings and events industry.
