Deep-sea-explorer James Cameron to mark opening of WA Maritime Museum exhibition

To celebrate the launch of the James Cameron - Challenging the Deep immersive exhibition at the WA Maritime Museum, James Cameron is visiting Western Australia for one unmissable public event on Sunday, 24th March 2024, at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal.

Cameron has fascinated ocean lovers, film buffs, and sci-fi fanatics worldwide with his passion for deep-sea exploration, science, technology, and award-winning filmmaking.

Presented by the Western Australian Museum and the Foundation of the Western Australian Museum, this event will see senior reporter and film critic Ben O'Shea discuss with James Cameron his passion and pursuits in deep ocean scientific and technical innovations, creative achievements, and his relationship between filmmaking and deep ocean exploration.

The event supports the James Cameron - Challenging the Deep exhibition, which opens at the WA Maritime Museum on Saturday, 23rd March 2024.

The immersive exhibition, created by the Australian National Maritime Museum in association with the Avatar Alliance Foundation and toured internationally by Flying Fish, explores Cameron's extensive career as a deep-sea explorer and his many history-making expeditions.

It takes visitors to the depths of our oceans through the lens of Cameron's underwater cameras and his other incredible technological innovations that have enabled us to see the least-known places on Earth.
