Chinese entertainment and real estate company the Dalian Wanda Group, has signed an agreement to invest 63 billion yuan (US$9.45 billion) to build a culture, sport and tourism complex in Jinan, Shandong Province.
Planned as Wanda’s 13th super culture and tourism project in China, Jinan Wanda City will be the first Wanda project to feature sporting facilities with plans for a 10,000 seat indoor arena for an ice hockey and basketball stadium.
Set over 290 hectares, the arena will be in addition to a retail mall, outdoor theme park, an aquarium and several hotels as well as a large entertainment and dining precinct. Other recreation and sport offerings will include hiking, outdoor extreme sports, bicycle trails and football training.
